If you buy something, and agree to buy it as is, it means you will take the item no matter what the condition, good or bad. Would you take this box as is? There is a cat in it.
Some words in English only have a plural. Clothes. Goggles. Arms (weapons). Scissors. Pants. Riches (wealth). Cat can be singular or plural (cats), of course. Plural is better.
