Meh.

This week, let’s look at ways to say that something is “ok”. Not good, not bad, but just in the middle.

If someone asks you “how was the food?” You can say “it was OK”. You can also say “so-so”. Also “fair”. My personal favorite is “nothing to write home about”. All of these expressions will tell the listener that the food was OK, but not anything special.

And remember, you can always add the word “pretty” to a description. “The hotel was pretty nice”. “The food was pretty good”. This tells this listener that you enjoyed yourself, but it was not wonderful or the best you ever experienced.

I don’t like the word “Meh”. People are using that to describe something that they didn’t like these days. I think humans should always express themselves clearly.
